Up & coming Dragon stars Luke Holt and Waheguru Dhillon have recently been recognised by thewest.com.au as some of the top young talent in WA cricket in their Top 10 rising WA male cricket stars article.
After making his 1st grade debut for the Dragons this season, Holt had an outstanding year with the ball, taking 20 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 18.35 in 1st grade. WACA Talent Development Manager David Fitzgerald says Holt has 'developed nicely over the past 18 months' and boasts good control for his age. Holt took a total of 43 wickets for the Dragons this year, contributing to the success of not only the 1st grade, but the 2nd grade and colts sides as well. Holt's success is a testament to the Dragons junior pathway, playing junior cricket in all age groups for Willetton.
After a breakout 2019/20 season, Waheguru Dhillon dominated the WA premier batsmen this season, taking 38 1st grade wickets and 57 across all formats. A player who started his Dragons career in the 4th grade for round one of the 2018/19 season, his rise is nothing short of extraordinary. Stated by thewest.com.au, 'Dhillon took wickets at his own leisure this season', finishing 4th in the wicket-taking in 1st grade.
The club congratulates Luke & Waheguru on their achievements this season, and look forward to seeing their continued improvement in the years to come.
